South Korea’s importance to Information Technology and the Automotive Industry has continued to increase over the years and security considerations are a crucial success factor for those industries..   The Trusted Computing Group (TCG) is excited to be holding its annual members meeting in Seoul in October, and will be hosting an open house for technologists in the region.    Interest in Trusted Computing continues to increase, driven by new security threats to the connected automobile and to the booming internet of things.   TCG has continued to focus on growing its international membership and takes a global approach to developing standards seeking input and requirements from stakeholders around the world.

Our October 18th event in Seoul – Trusted Computing in Action: An Educational Open House features a keynote address by Director General Jung-Su Song, from the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning, on the topic of Korea Cybersecurity Vision and Strategy.  Attendees will learn why Trust and Trusted Computing are important for the Internet of Things, PCs, Mobile Devices, and Embedded Systems. Trusted Computing standards such as the Trusted Platform Module, Self-Encrypting Drive, Networking and Automotive will be introduced and discussed. There will also be a brief introduction to the TCG organization.

Compelling demonstrations of TCG technologies in use will also be presented.   Our demonstrations will include an introduction to TCG’s new Device Identifier Composition Engine (DICE) work, which is exploring mechanisms for establishing trust in the identity of a component or device and the initial updatable code running on a device with minimal new hardware requirements.  The talk and demonstration will show a proof of concept of how the technology could work and the tooling necessary to provision a device in a manufacturing environment.    Demonstrations will be shown by engineers from Infineon, GlobalSign and Microsoft.
