Always-on Data Protection, Instant Wipe and Other Key Benefits of Self-encrypting Drives Focus of TCG at Storage Visions
Did you know that all new solid state drives and enterprise-class drives are self-encrypting? That fact and others have been the focus on a new organization, called the Drive Trust Alliance.
DTA will complement TCG’s standards efforts around self-encrypting drives, or SEDs. TCG members, currently including Micron and others, will demonstrate a number of key features of TCG standards-based SEDs at the Jan. 4-5 Storage Visions 2016 conference. This long-running conference, co-located in Las Vegas with the Consumer Electronics show, features two days of exhibits and conference sessions on the future of storage, emerging technologies and security.
TCG’s storage work chair chairman Jason Cox, Intel Corp., will speak at a panel and discuss the future of SEDs and highlight recent updates to TCG specifications to further enable SED adoption.
Storage Visions is offering a discount good, effective until Dec. 25, 2015.
Membership in the Trusted Computing Group is your key to participating with fellow industry stakeholders in the quest to develop and promote trusted computing technologies.
Standards-based Trusted Computing technologies developed by TCG members now are deployed in enterprise systems, storage systems, networks, embedded systems, and mobile devices and can help secure cloud computing and virtualized systems.
Trusted Computing Group announced that its TPM 2.0 (Trusted Platform Module) Library Specification was approved as a formal international standard under ISO/IEC (the International Organization for Standardization and the International Electrotechnical Commission). TCG has 90+ specifications and guidance documents to help build a trusted computing environment.
