San Francisco – February 24, 2014 – Infineon Technologies North America today announced that embedded security engineering firm, Valicore Technologies, Inc. is qualified to provide design and software implementation support for systems based on Infineon’s OPTIGA™ brand security products. Valicore will provide support in North America to companies adding hardware-based security and brand protection features to embedded computing systems and other electronics products based on the Infineon OPTIGA TPM (Trusted Platform Module) and the OPTIGA Trust authentication products.
Both Infineon and Valicore are leaders in bringing the concept of Trusted Computing to many different classes of embedded computing devices by using chip-based security in a layered hardware/software approach to system security protection. In response, the companies are demonstrating an industrial computing TPM implementation today at the Trusted Computing Group (TCG) Showcase at the RSA Conference 2014.
“As companies in many different industrial and commercial market segments recognize the key role of secure chips in protecting connected systems, the need for expert engineering resources to support system design programs is growing rapidly,” said Joerg Borchert, vice president for the chip card and security business at Infineon Technologies North America. “Valicore’s well-proven skill set and portfolio of software to implement a hardware root-of-trust as the basis of strong security makes them an excellent choice in embedded computing to support our customers during the design-in phase.”
“We’ve been fortunate to work with customers in a variety of industries, using a number of different security technologies. And for this reason, we couldn’t be more excited about Infineon OPTIGA products bringing industry standard security for use within smaller embedded systems,” said Greg Powell, CEO of Valicore Technologies. “The TPM is not just for PCs anymore and we look forward to working with Infineon to provide customers with the engineering services to best utilize OPTIGA products to accomplish their security and product goals.”
Collaboration History
Infineon and Valicore have worked together since 2007 for embedded security design support around Infineon’s 32-bit SLE 88 security microcontroller family. The expanded collaboration adds the widely used Trusted Computing technology embodied in the Infineon OPTIGA TPM and robust product authentication for brand protection and counterfeit protection provided by the OPTIGA Trust product family.
