San Francisco – February 24, 2014 – Infineon Technologies North America today announced that it is working with Digital Management, Inc. (DMI), an engineering and consulting services provider, to support secure embedded systems design projects in North America. DMI, a leading provider of mobile enterprise and cybersecurity solutions, offers a wide range of computing and system design services to government and commercial organizations and will add support of Infineon OPTIGA™ brand security products to its cybersecurity services portfolio.
DMI is an active participant in secure computing standards development in the Trusted Computing Group (TCG) and has expertise in security architecture, software development and systems integration for enterprise, embedded system and mobile applications. On Monday, February 24, during the RSA conference in San Francisco, DMI will be demonstrating two separate mobile apps at the TCG Symposium specifically designed for Microsoft Windows tablets, each utilizing Bitlocker with Trusted Platform Module (TPM). Both apps have consumer-grade user interfaces and user design and leverage advanced mobile security features. With Infineon’s TPM and OPTIGA products, DMI is now able to design and implement similar secure solutions for all types of mobile devices, embedded systems and the Internet of Things.
“The addition of hardware-based root-of-trust to non-traditional computing platforms, such as industrial embedded systems, often requires skills both in security architecture and integration into a larger overall systems environment,” said Joerg Borchert, vice president for the chip card and security business at Infineon Technologies North America. “DMI offers its clients resources that encompass enterprise-wide requirements for system design, deployment and comprehensive scale-out of a solution.”
According to Rick Doten, DMI chief information security officer, “As the need for advanced security expands beyond traditional laptops and mobile devices, companies are looking for new and more robust solutions. By leveraging Infineon’s products, we can provide hardware roots of trust to validate device integrity and protect encryption keys and credentials in machine-to-machine environments, embedded systems, and both traditional and non-traditional mobile environments.”
Scope of Collaboration
DMI will support North American organizations adding hardware-based security and brand protection features to embedded computing systems and other electronics products based on the Infineon OPTIGA TPM (Trusted Platform Module) and the OPTIGA Trust authentication product. Infineon is the industry’s leading supplier of TPM hardware for both traditional computing and embedded system applications, and the company is a pioneer in providing robust authentication for brand security and counterfeit protection with its OPTIGA Trust product family.
